The motifs around the medallion have unusual features, like the multicoloured branches coming out of the flowers next to the spandrels. This subtle unusualness in the motif is also repeated in a pair of blue leaves on either side of the medallion. The mustard-coloured spandrels bring a harmonious hue of colour into the carpet that adds to its attractiveness.
