A Maximilian breastplate with tassets, cuissards and greaves with boots dating: 1540 circa provenance: Southern Germany, Round breastplate with grooves, smooth and recessed border, raised and twisted neckline, on the right side a rest for the spear. Riveted gussets with border worked en suite with the neckline. One waistplate. Three riveted loin-guards and four riveted tassets, worked en suite with the breastplate grooves. Cuissards (47 cm long) worked and decorated likewise and complete with knee-cops provided with wings. Plain and ribbed greaves, complete with backplates, the boots consisting of seven grooved and riveted plates, the last four with central twisted ribbing (small defects). A fine ensemble in dark patina, untouched condition, easy to clean. height 70 cm.
