A Maximilian type helmet dating: 1520/30 provenance: Southern Germany, Skull in one piece, provided with a low, twisted comb and longitudinal fluted decoration; fine visor with eyelets and thin and rectangular ventilation holes, ribbed in the center and decorated with double lines en suite with the skull, pivot with button chiselled for opening; beaver and neck-guard in one piece, with outlined edge, chiselled visor-locking button, three-plated nape-guard with central grooves and border carved en suite with neck-guard.
