A Maximilian-type helmet dating: 16th Century provenance: Southern Germany, Skull in one piece, with a low roped and twisted comb, provided with an oblique slot at the center, with shelled bands alternating with outlined risers at the sides; pointed and ribbed visor with eye-slots, the aeration slots arranged vertically, with wavy lower edge featuring a snap button and a lever; beaver (the lock is missing) with lower edge decorated with a swallowtailed margin and a twisted rope; with one-plate nape-guard at the back, decorated like the skull. height 32 cm.
