A medieval sword dating: first quarter of the 12th Century provenance: Germany, Wide, straight, double-edged blade, slightly grooved at the center, remains of writing; grip with trapezoidal tang, straight quillon with round quillons enlarging toward the edges; big, oval pommel; remains of silver decorations with rays on one side, the opposite side with few remains. Fine, solid shape. Xa Oakeshott type sword. Very similar to the Witham sword, in Oakeshott page 34 cat. X 15 dated 1100-1150.
