A MEISSEN FIGURAL PORCELAIN GROUP OF COURTING VICTORIAN MAN AND WOMAN each on gilt-edged, scroll moulded base with naturalistic detailing, each in walking position conveying movement, she dressed in a crinoline with lace detailing and a light blue bustier, with yellow buckle shoes, he dressed in matching tunic and breeches, light blue tailored overcoat with black buckle shoes; both marked with factory mark in blue underglaze, he marked with incised model number 2346, impressed numerals 122, with painter's numeral 45 in gilt overglaze, she with incised model number 2212, impressed numerals 122, effaced numeral in red overglaze, in marker inscribed with RUTHIE, overglaze, all underside base; height of each: 19 cm (7 1/2 in.)
