A mother-of-pearl inlaid lacquer box and cover

The flat top is embellished with a scene of immortals and childs within a garden scene, the sides finely decorated with branch of flowers.
The interiors and the flat base lacquered black.
Mother-of-pearl inlaid objects were highly prized possessions, reflecting the wealth and taste of their owners. Such boxes were likely used to store precious items, such as jewelry, cosmetics, or writing implements.
