A PAIR OF CANDELABRAS WITH SPHINXES Régence style, Paris, mid-19th century. The model attributable to André-Charles Boulle. Bronze, punched, chiseled and gilt. Baluster shaft on a trefoil base with three sphinxes, tapering into leaf-shaped supports at the back and ending in scrolls. On retracted fluted feet. Three light branches with leaf decoration, ending in ram's heads. Drip pans with gadrooned edges and vase nozzles with leaf decoration. Raised central torch with corresponding nozzle (one with an incomplete lip). Ø 36 cm, H 49 cm. Jh. Das Modell André-Charles Boulle zuzuschreiben. Bronze punziert, ziseliert sowie vergoldet. Balusterschaft auf Dreipasssockel mit drei Sphingen, rückseitig blattförmig auslaufend und in Voluten endend als Stützen. Auf eingezogenen kannelierten Füssen. Drei gekantete, gegenläufig geschweifte Lichtarme mit Blattdekor, in Widderköpfen endend. Tropfschalen mit godroniertem Rand sowie Vasentüllen mit reliefiertem Blattdekor. Erhöhte Zentralfackel mit entsprechender Tülle (eine mit unvollständiger Lippe). Ø 36 cm, H 49 cm.
