A PAIR OF FIVE-KNOB BROOCHES - former Kofler-Truniger collection Frankish, early 6th century AD. Silver chased and gilt. Five heads with semicircular cell with wave decoration, grooved bridge with inlaid almandine garnets transitioning into a rhombus-shaped foot with an animal head. H 7.3 cm. Gilding rubbed. Corrosion on reverse. Provenance: - Collection of Ernst and Marthe Kofler-Truniger (1918–1999 & 1918–1999), Lucerne before 1964 (inv. no. K723Q, index card not available). - Swiss private collection, Lucerne, acquired from the above in ca. 1974. - By inheritance in the same Swiss family collection, Lucerne.
