A PAIR OF HYDRIAS (STAGNONI), SAVONA, LATE 17TH CENTURY PAIR OF STAGNONI (HYDRIAS), SAVONA, LATE 17TH CENTURY in majolica painted in cobalt blue monochrome on azure glaze, ovoid body made on the potter's wheel with dragon's head handles rising from two masks, while a third, pierced for the escape of liquid, is at the base of the front; high truncated conical neck with rim, flared goblet foot. The entire surface shows a 'baroque historiated' decoration with mythological scenes, interrupted on the front of both vases by the cartouche containing the pharmaceutical inscription ( Aqu Acettose and Aqua Boragi. ).
