A PAIR OF MOUNTED POTPOURRI Louis XVI style, France, early 19th century. The porcelain from China, 19th century. Green porcelain with craquelé, in a baluster shape. Gilt bronze mount, the handle designed as dolphin heads, with laurel garlands, ribbons, acanthus leaves and leaf friezes. Open-worked lid with a pinecone finial. Square quatrefoil base. H 42.5 cm. A pair of vases in the Louvre (inv. no. OA 5186 2) probably served as a model for these vases. These date from the last third of the 18th century, are made of white craquelé porcelain and do not have a pierced lid. ------------------------------------------------- PAAR MONTIERTE POTPOURRI Louis XVI-Stil, Frankreich, Anfang 19. Vergoldete Bronzemontierung in Form von Delfinköpfen als Henkel, Lorbeergirlanden, Maschen, Akanthusblättern sowie Blattfriesen. Durchbrochener Deckel mit Zapfenfruchtaufsatz. Quadratischer, vierpassiger Sockel. H 42,5 cm. Als mögliches Vorbild dieser Vasen diente wohl ein Vasenpaar aus dem Louvre (Inv.-Nr. OA 5186 2). Jene Exemplare werden ins letzte Drittel des 18. Jh. datiert, sind in weissem Krakelee-Porzellan gefertigt und besitzen keinen durchbrochenen Deckel.
