A rare and important red lacquered cabinet Dating : 16th Century Provenance : China Beautiful manufacture, squared shape, front opening with two doors, complete with elegant, polylobed brass mounts enriching the doors hinges and the four feet, at the centre a bigger decoration with handles. The lateral panels are decorated with a geometrical frame with stylized dragon's heads enclosing two large phoenixes flying over peonies flowers and leaves. Geometrical ground at the front doors enriched with the effigy of pagodas, bridge, boat, rocks and clouds. The entire decoration is filled with animals and characters. Ming dynasty.
