A rare Brass Frame Henry Rifle dating: 1860-66 provenance: USA Octagonal, rifled, 24', cal. 44 rimfire barrel, with white metal fore-sight, remains of marking on the back 'HENRY'S PATENT OCT ... 1860 / ... NEWHAVEN CT.', and marked with serial number '85xx'. Tubular magazine integrated in the barrel (with the typical hinged twist-to-open top portion, for loading), and with later plunger & spring. Foldaway and adjustable rear sight. Brass frame with top extractor. In working order. Loading lever complete with locking mechanism, lower tang with stamp 'H'. Walnut butt, with iron loop for the belt on the left side (the second loop mounted on magazine's side). Brass butt-plate with gate.
