A rare hussar's sabre dating: about 1780 provenance: Poland, Wide, curved, single-and false-edged blade with large, central fuller, first part with inscription in Polish, on one side 'La Nazione con il Re' and on the other 'Il Re con la Nazione' among decorations with trophies and garlands. Base with stars. Iron hilt with langets, three loop-guards, thumb ring and long and smooth cap. Wooden grip covered with fish skin. Iron scabbard with two suspension rings. length 93.5 cm.
