A rare nodachi in koshirae dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan Shinogi-zukuri blade, Iori-mune. Nagasa: 94.7 cm. Hamon and Hada clearly visible. Nakago-jiri: Kurijiri. Mei: Edo Kunimitsu saku. Mekugi-ana. Late Shinto era (1597-1780). Copper habaki. In Koshirae on Handachi type with large tsuba iron Mokko-gata decorated with a scene of sages on a boat within a landscape. Fuchi and kabutogane worked en suite, made of brass with engraved clouds on a granular background. Menuki in Shakudo with gilding, possibly depicting dragons. Tsuka with Tsuka-ito in antique white silk (small missing parts and signs of time). Antique Saya covered in red lacquer mixed with mother-of-pearl powder (small missing part at the finishing). Brass mounts en suite with those of the sword. length 130 cm.
