A Roman glass unguent bottle with figural gold lid, 1st century A Roman glass unguent bottle with figural gold lid, 1st century Oblong gold ribbon glass perfume bottle, the rim of which has a gold border. The lid is designed as a delicate, graceful woman's head (with a long neck and necklace) and has a long spike on the underside with which drop by drop the precious perfume could be removed from the container. The lid and the bezel are connected by a chain. The thick glass is polychrome (turquoise, blue, white etc.) with gold threads worked into it. Length 11.8 cm. Weight 49 g. Exceptional in this design and condition. Provenance: South German private collection. Condition: II
