A RUSSIAN PORCELAIN PLATE FROM THE SERVICE OF HIS MAJESTY'S OWN DACHA AT PETERHOF, IMPERIAL PORCELAIN FACTORY, ST PETERSBURG, PERIOD OF NICHOLAS I, ca. 1840
with scrolling gilt ornament on a sky blue ground on the rim, the cavetto decorated with entwined floriated Imperial cyphers of Grand Duke Alexander Nikolaeivch (later Alexander II) and his wife Maria Alexandrovna, the base with underglazed Imperial cypher of Nicholas I, and painted inv. number, diameter of plate: 24.9 cm (9 3/4 in.), in removable frame added by father of current owner, diameter with frame: 32 cm (12 5/8 in.).
