A SILVER AND PORCELAIN CUTLERY SET Dresden, 1731. Maker's mark: George Siegmund Schirtze. Set consisting of spoons, forks and knives, 48 items in total. The handles are probably Meissen, ca. 1740, in blue with polychrome Hausmaler decoration. L knives 20.5 cm. The prongs of one fork are broken. The maker's mark GSS in the heart can be attributed to the silversmith George Siegmund Schirtze, who was registered as a master craftsman in Dresden from 1731.
