A silver-mounted shasqua
dating: 1875
provenance: Caucasia, Curved, single-and false-edged blade probably made of damask, with triple fuller, a deep Persian mark at the base. Hilt of typical shape, completely covered with silver foil richly engraved and nielloed with floral motifs on a granulated background; wooden scabbard with leather covering and beautiful, silver-foil mounts decorated en suite, smooth back decorated with niello floral motifs. A suspension ring and loop. Dated 1875 (1292 Islamic calendar). length 95 cm.
