A STANDING DONOR QUEEN, POSSIBLY SEMBHIYAN MAHADEVI. South India, Vijayanagar period, ca. 14th c. Height 32.5 cm. Bronze. Standing in slight tribhanga she holds a lotus bud and a parrot in her right hand. Provenance: Swiss private collection, purchased in 1976 (invoice available). ------------------------------------------------- FEMALE FIGURE, POSSIBLY SEMBIYAN MAHADEVI. Sόdindia, Vijayanagar period, ca. 14th century H 32.5 cm. Bronze. The king's wife stands in a light tribhanga on an oval lotus pedestal on a rectangular pedestal. In her left hand she holds a bud and a parrot. The figure is adorned with magnificent jewellery and a high crown. Provenance: Old Swiss private collection, acquired in 1976 (invoice available).
