A Tibetan gilt bronze figure of Buddha Shakyamuni. 18th century Seated with a serene expression on a lotus base fine and large leaves, with his right hand in the earth-touching gesture, recalling the moment of his enlightenment, which took place under the bodhi tree at Bodhgaya in India. He is dressed in a sheer and close-fitting sanghati with finely incised hems. Base plate missing.
