A Tyrolean late-Gothic Madonna, upper Austria, circa 1480 Carved in softwood, painted in colour. The Virgin Mary standing upright with her hair loose, wearing a veil and crown, her feet resting on a crescent moon with a face. Holding the radiant Infant Jesus in her hands. Hollowed on the back. Mounted on a plinth with coloured paint. Knocked in places, slight worm damage and defects on the lower edge. Height 84 cm, including the pedestal 92 cm. Condition: II -
