A very rare pair of flintlock pistols entirely made of steel dating: 17th Century provenance: Holland, Smoothbore, three-stage barrels, with three marks, two of which are deep and one with the letters 'HS'. Octagonal at the first segment, then a small part with sixteen sides and round at the final part. 13 mm cal. at the nozzle. Locks with external mechanism placed at the counterplate, with pan on the right side, fixed by two screws. Smooth butts enlarging towards the pommel, smooth trigger guards, iron ramrods. Butts and barrels engraved with floral motifs. A very similar pair of pistols can be found in the Royal Armoury in Kobenhavn, made by Jan Cloeter (c. 1670), together with another pair by Peter and Christian Cloeter (c. 1680).
