A very rare targe shield dating: circa 1700 provenance: Scotland, Of round shape, made of wood, the entire external surface covered with leather and decorated with various round and semicircle rivets (small damages and missing). The rear part featuring four wooden boards, with some engravings at the centre, the letter 'X' and collection number '359'. Few remains of the leather handles with three iron rivets on each edge.
