A very scarce and important matchlock revolving gun dating: late 18th Century provenance: China Smooth, round, 11 mm cal. barrel, entirely decorated with effigy of dragons between floral motifs in silver and gold, at the base the sight and the spring which blocks the cylinder in the firing position; long, five-shot cylinder (the revolving function is now blocked) finely engraved and decorated en suite, five pans with chiselled, iron cover; matchlock with flat, iron plate, the hammer provided with a screw to block the match. Wooden stock in two parts, at the butt a slightly chiselled frame, flat iron counter-plate, iron trigger guard, featuring remains of gold decorations. Interesting gun of scarce typology. Considering the decoration and the peculiarity of the weapon, it probably used to belong to the imperial court. dimensions: length 154 cm.
