A very scarce second type Jarre pistol, with original case and magazines dating: Third quarter of the 19th Century provenance: Paris, Cylindrical, 9 mm cal. barrel, with carved decorations and engraved with racemes and leaves in relief on a granulated background; provided with foresight and a small frame at the noozle. The entire frame decorated en suite, with racemes in relief on a granulated background and featuring relieved small frames on the borders. Signature 'Con. Jarre' on the left side and 'A Paris' on the right side, lion mark with 'JARRE & C.ie / B.te S.G.D.G' on the right side. The central stripe of the grip and the trigger-guard decorated en suite with the other parts. Ebony grip scales, finely chiselled with leaves on a granulated background. Butt-plate featuring the monogram 'IM' among racemes. In its wooden case covered with purple velvet on the inside, and marked with golden letters 'JARRE / ARMURIER / PARIS' inside the lid. Provided with two loading gates and a compartment for three magazines. The magazines are included, the two less-used ones still show signs of the original bluing. The case is covered with black Morocco leather. Brass mounts, handle at the back. The lock with key. Famous pistol with an interesting mechanics, produced in few pieces.
