BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI.
Tibet, 13th century H 21 cm.
Fire-gilt copper alloy. The well-modelled, powerful Buddha at the moment of earth-transcendence under the bodhi tree, defying the tempter Mara. He sits on a double lotus throne adorned with three pearl beads. The plinth is composed of several pieces.
