Lot no. 9
BLUE SILK KESI COURT DRESS WITH DRAGON DECORATION, CHINA, LATE QING DYNASTY
The blue silk kesi ground is woven with five-clawed dragons pursuing flaming pearls amidst ruyi-form clouds interspersed with bats suspending flowers and various auspicious emblems all above the terrestrial diagram and lishui stripe at the hem, with a similar pattern repeated on the collar, lapel and cuffs. The condition unfortunately is compromised a bit from some losses due to a not cared conservation, so the dress is with some defects.
