Account of the journey made in 1798-99 by the young Mantuan (1773-1846), from Sweden to Finland and Lapland, to meet the indigenous peoples. Attentive to their cultures, he recorded poems, songs and folk dances and was the first to describe a sauna. A very fine copy.
