Achille Jemoli studied painting at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, a pupil of master Cesare Tallone. He gained a solid training that immediately brought him fame and favour with the public and critics. His art ranges over various pictorial themes but concentrates on the Lombard landscape although he has always been highly appreciated as a portrait painter as well. His brushstroke is delicate and attentive, free of excess but capable of interpreting light and colour in an excellent manner, placing himself fully in the Lombard tradition, merging his Varese origins with his Milanese training. He was also a very talented etcher.
