The work of Alfred Marié, known as A.C.M, combines found objects, industrial materials and organic matter. Initially a house painter and then a student at the École régionale supérieure in Tourcoing, the meeting with his partner Corinne in 1974, to whom his pseudonym pays homage (Alfred Corinne Marié), marked the beginning of his artistic career, between personal reconstruction and artistic experimentation.
Somewhere between architecture and sculpture, his creations are crudely worked, with visible marks of welding and glue. With its inventive use of multiple media - glass, rust, beads and fuses - this work reflects a spontaneous and intuitive creative approach, in the tradition of Robert Rauschenberg's ready-mades and combine paintings.
