The Swiss painter Frey-Moock went to Munich in 1902, where he studied at the Academy under Karl Raupp and Wilhelm von Diez from 1904 and later became an assistant to Franz von Stuck. In his works, he was heavily influenced by both Stuck and Arnold Böcklin. Associated with Munich Art Nouveau, he favoured painting symbolist scenes and mythological motifs. Frey-Moock lived at Türkenstr. 54 in Munich until around 1930, before moving temporarily to Nördlingen in the 1930s, then back to Munich before finally returning to Switzerland. Oil/hard fibre. Signed with artist's address in Munich (Türkenstr. 54) on verso. 19.3 cm x 28 cm Frame.
