A folded fan celebrating the end of the First World War and the armistice. The silk sheet is painted with the cockerel, the emblem of France, crowing from a cannon. The sun rises and the tricolour flag flutters in the wind. Signed on the right "A. Thomasse" for the painter Adolphe Thomasse.
Signed on the reverse for the Parisian fan maker "Duvelleroy".
Brown tortoiseshell frame. The plumes are carved as flagpoles and surrounded by laurel wreaths. The throat decorated with four coats of arms of the victorious allied nations, the British Empire, Russia and France, separated by laurel wreaths.
