French propaganda poster entitled "On ne passe pas! 1914-1918", illustrated by Maurice Neumont for the Union des Grandes Associations Françaises against enemy propaganda, depicting a standing French soldier, his face veiled by a flap of his coat, camped in the middle of the ruins of a battlefield, rifle in hand, against a background of fires, at the bottom, a direct appeal to civilians: "Like me, you must hold out and win, be strong and clever. Beware of Boche hypocrisy", printed in colour on paper, signed Devambez, Paris (size 113x80cm - handwritten note lower right, tears, folds and creases, as is).
