Afif BENNANI (1943-2025), "Fortification à Toundout", oil on canvas, signed lower right, titled and countersigned on the back, dated 1995, n°193, H : 50 cm, L : 65 cm Afif BENNANI, nicknamed the "Prince of the Kasbahs", is a writer-painter who is emblematic of contemporary Moroccan visual artists. He has held around 65 exhibitions in Morocco and abroad over the course of his career. He has received several awards for his work, including La Toile d'Or 2010. From 1982 to 1999, he headed the Organisation des Foires et Expositions Internationales, promoting Moroccan artists worldwide.
