Owner's note by Hoschander (?). - With an ex-libris "Crucifixus Amor Meus". - Travelogue of the three-year voyage on the English Falcon. Francois Froger, who had been fascinated by travelling from an early age, was only 19 years old when the Falcon left La Rochelle in France. They first travelled along the west coast of Africa before sailing across the Atlantic to South America. Froger describes various aspects of the voyage, such as the landscape and battles. - The magnificent copper plates show the flora and fauna of the areas travelled, as well as maps and illustrations of the indigenous population. - Foxing, margins minimally browned.
