First edition. This collection of six treatises by G. Agricola (the Latinised name of Georg Bauer) is one of the first books on mineralogy and metallurgy. In 1556, Bauer published De re metallica. He is considered to be the "father of mineralogy". The Bermanus sive de re metallica dialogus had appeared in 1530, but the other treatises on geology, fossils and metallurgy appeared here for the first time. Norman 19 - Honeyman 25.
