AIBOM, Chambri Lakes, Papua New Guinea Earthenware, natural pigments. Large jar used to store sago palm flour (nolangau). This type of jar is very rare, as the village of Aibom is isolated and can only be reached by canoe along narrow waterways choked with logs and floating islands of grass. Size: 51 cm. Provenance: -Private collection, Blois. Acquired from the Cabinet Cultures et Civilisations (Hervé Naudy), certificate attached. -Clot-Barthe Collection.
