FLAG EAGLE MODEL 1804 In chased bronze (one clamp repaired). Mounted on a wooden base carved with a stack of stones and the date "MDCCCXIV". With modern plaque "Eagle of an infantry flag 1814. A Mr RAFFET fils, 1 rue de Fleurus" recalling an old pen-and-ink label on the back (partly gone). Manufactured in the 19th century (after the Empire) H. (on base: 37 cm A.B.E. Origin : - Sale of the souvenirs of Auguste Raffet fils, lot 27 bis, eagle from an infantry flag 1814. Hôtel Drouot, 16 March 1911; - Former Napoleonic collection of the Prince's Palace of Monaco (3rd sale, lot 170). An 1804 flag eagle, in carved bronze, from the second part of 19th C. Biography : Auguste Raffet fils (1839-1910), son of the painter and librarian at the Bibliothèque nationale in the prints department. plaque removed detached plate
