Our sculpture can be compared with La Courtisane, a terracotta kept at the Musée du Petit-Palais (Inv. PPS00209) which, along with four other works, is part of a project for a Monument à la courtisane, also known as La Luxure (See Amélie Simier, Jules Dalou, le sculpteur de la République, cat. exp., Paris, Petit Palais, 18 April - 13 July 2013, p.196, n°128).
