ALBRECHT DÜRER (1471 Nuremberg 1528) Three peasants. Circa 1497/98. Copper engraving on laid paper without watermark. Monogrammed in the plate on the lower margin in the centre: AD. 10.8 x 7.7 cm. Bartsch 86; Schoch/Mende/Scherbaum 15 a (of d); Meder 87 a (of d, before the faint vertical scratch to the right, near the central head). - A fine, even and clear impression with a fine margin around the framing line. Fully laid down on backing board, due to which the paper is somewhat cockled in parts. The framing line is re-drawn in parts with pen and grey ink. The surface is unobtrusively foxed, somewhat soiled and with minimal rubbing. Some individual tiny grey ink stains. Still in overall good condition.
