Album of 46 woodblock prints from the Series 'Taiheiki eiyϋden' (Heroic Stories from the Taiheiki Epic) and 14 sheets from the Series 'Meiko hyaku yϋden' (Legends of a Hundred Heroes of High Renown), depicting historical warriors. The former signed 'Ichyϋsai Kuniyoshi ga' with paulownia seal, publisher Yamamotoya Heikichi (Eikyϋdτ) and censor's seals, the latter signed 'Ichiyϋsai Kuniyoshi ga' or 'Chττrτ Kuniyoshi ga', publisher Izumiya Ichibei (Kansendτ) and censor's seals. Very minor traces of age and wear. Provenance: Collection Hans Rφmer, Munich in early 20th c. The Taiheiki sheets are signed 'Ichyϋsai Kuniyoshi ga', paulownia seal, publisher Yamamotoya Heikichi (Eikyϋdτ) and censor's seal, the other series 'Ichiyϋsai Kuniyoshi ga' and 'Chττrτ Kuniyoshi ga', publisher Izumiya Ichibei (Kansendτ) and censor's seal.
