Paris, Desessart, 1847. 2 volumes in-12, glazed blue half calf, smooth spines decorated with gilt fillets and Arabic decoration, speckled edges (Binding of the period). The first edition of this work is a dialogue-based account of the captivity of a number of military and civilian prisoners, including several women, in Abd-el-Kader's camp. It was republished in 1849.
