First edition illustrated by Pierre Alechinsky with 5 etchings and 27 original lithographs. Edition of 160 copies on Arches, this one of 120 (n°39), signed by Pierre Alechinsky and Michel Butor at the end of the text. A perfect copy of this book of dialogue presented at La Hune from 24 April 22 May 1975. The correspondence relating to the genesis of the work, published at the end of the volume, testifies to the mutual desire for a shared book between the artist engraving in his studio in Bougival and the author staying in Albuquerque. Alechinsky's 5 etchings, which preceded the text, were sent to Mexico. Mexico, giving rise to Butor's "divagations sur l'ammonite". Butor. The set crossed the Atlantic, and then, "to make the exchange complete Alechinsky reworked his etchings and added the lithographs.
