Alessandro Specchi Prospetto del Nuovo Navale di Ripetta etching on three plates 66 x 131.5 cm - 91 x 157 cm in frame A large and extremely rare view of the Tiber port of call printed on 3 sheets of 3 plates. The elevation constitutes an important documentary evidence of the Clementine port after the renovation of the square in front of the church of San Girolamo dei Croati and the construction of the staircase towards the river; the works were entrusted by Clement XI to Alessando Specchi and the master Carlo Fontana and were completed in August 1704. Below, the plan of the staircase, flanked by two views showing two phases of the renovation; dedication by Domenico de Rossi (the publisher) to Cardinal Francesco Giudice Archbishop of Monreale
