Mucha's entire artistic oeuvre is pervaded by an interest in the depiction of the female figure. He succeeded in perfectly capturing the contemporary female type and developed his own aesthetic ideals of beauty. He introduced his viewers to the glamorous world of Parisian and Prague models, night cabarets, social salons, and theatrical performances, as well as a series of intimate portraits.
