Minor dents on the scroll. With a shiny brown patina. Superb. From 1891 in Algeria, following droughts and invasions of insects, farmers decided to store cereal seeds, to remedy the lack of cereals due to natural disasters and raids. The SIPs (Sociétés Indigènes de Prévoyance) were set up in 1893 and quickly became money reserves, taking on several functions relating to agricultural development, always under the supervision of the administration. The SIPs were reorganised in 1936 to become SAPs (Sociétés Agricoles de Prévoyance) until independence.
