A monumental work, the most spectacular on this subject. It is the sum total of the work of Baron Alibert, chief physician at the Hôpital Saint-Louis and professor at the Ecole de Médecine. A pioneer of French dermatology, his tree of dermatoses, which appears here as the frontispiece, first appeared in his Description des maladies de peau in 1806. The tree represents his classification, which was quickly rejected in favour of that of Dr Willan. Illustrated with colour lithographs, some signed (Tresca, Choubard).
