Allegorical figurine group "The Earth" from the "Four Elements" series
Biscuit porcelain. White. The goddess Cybele with a golden mural crown seated on a lion on an irregularly raised stone base, carrying the key (missing) to the underworld in her raised right hand, her left arm holding a cornucopia with precious jewellery. Surrounded by cupids, offering a round dance of flowers, reclining with sickle, working with hoe (missing) or surrounding her. Designed by Michel Victor Acier. Model no. D. 83. missing parts. Rest/rest; impressed and underglaze blue sword mark. H. 25.5 cm.
