Pair of large panels consisting of five basswood boards carved in bas-relief, one depicting the Nativity with the Annunciation to the Shepherds, the other the Adoration of the Magi, probably part of a large altarpiece, the decoration inspired by the visions of Saint Brigid and distributed throughout the German Empire (cf. engravings by Schongauer around 1470).
